Sonia O'Sullivan finished runner-up in the 3,000metres at the Australian National Championships in Brisbane.
O'Sullivan, who was prevented from competing for Australia in last year¦s Commonwealth Games because of injury, was outsprinted in the final lap of the race by Lauren Fleshman, who won in a time of nine minutes 28.53 seconds.
Ireland's former Olympic 5,000m silver medallist, who spends the winter warm-weather training at her Melbourne home, clocked 9:32.31 with Eloise Welling third (9:35.88).
