Irish sprinters enjoyed a good morning on the track at the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg, with two of the three Irishmen progressing to the semi-finals of the 200m.
Paul Brizzel and Paul Hession both qualified, with Hession really impressing. He finished second in heat 4, qualifying comfortably in 20.81 seconds.
Brizzel had to work harder for his place in the semi-final, finishing fourth in heat 4 in a time of 20.84 seconds which was his season's best.
However Gary Ryan was not so fortunate, bowing out after he finished sixth in his heat, in a time of 21.14 seconds.
