Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has congratulated Ireland's gold medal winner Derval O'Rourke on her victory in the women's 60 metres hurdles at the World Indoor Championships in Moscow yesterday.
He said that the 24-year-old Cork athlete has tremendous style and that he wishes her well in the future.
President Mary McAleese repeated the Taoiseach's sentiments, adding: "This is a well-deserved success for Derval which rewards her talent and dedication to her sport. We all take great pride in Derval's wonderful achievement."
