Derval O'Rourke roared to a world class 60 metres hurdles victory for Ireland at the IAAF Central Europe Development meeting in Bratislava this afternoon.
The Leevale athlete achieved the IAAF World Championships qualifying time with a very fast victory in 8.02 seconds.
O'Rourke's discipline and speed took her well clear of England's number one Sarah Claxton, who finished runner-up in 8.19secs with Slovenia's Radmila Vukmirovic third in 8.35.
Ciara Sheehy also again hit top form, adding to her Budapest 200m victory on Friday night with another in 24.17secs, well ahead of England's Lisa Miller and Mila Andric ffrom Serbia.
David McCarthy lost a thrilling 400m race to Andrew Steele, when although both were given the same time, the Englishman was awarded the win.
McCarthy seemed to have the race tied up until the powerful 21-year-old Steele closed a two-metre gap on him in the final 20 metres.
Emily Maher was second in her 60m race, won by England's Anyika Onuora in a world indoors qualifier of 7.31sec.
Onuora's powerful surge in the final 10m carried her 0.12sec clear of Maher, who herself held off fellow Irish team-mates Allis McSweeney and Sheehy, who finished in 7.47 and 7.51.
Elsewhere, James Nolan finished second in the 1,500 metres at an international indoor meeting in Karlsruhe this afternoon.
Nolan clocked a time of three minutes 39.89 seconds, but was just pipped for victory by France's Bouabdellah who won in a time of 3:39.29.
