Paula Radcliffe has confirmed she will defend her title in next year's Flora London Marathon.

The 31-year-old will be bidding to win the race for the fourth time in five years, having been first woman home in 2002, 2003 and 2005.

Race director David Bedford said: “This is great news and a real bonus for London to have Paula confirmed this early, and we must now decide whether to run the race in women's only or mixed race conditions.”

Radcliffe has broken world records on each of her previous victories in London.

Radcliffe has also won the 2004 New York marathon and the World Championship race in Helsinki this August.
