European Indoor 400m Champion David Gillick will be Ireland's flag bearer at the World University Games tomorrow in Izmir.
The 22-year-old from Dundrum was forced to withdraw from the Irish team for the World Athletics Championships due to injury, but he has recovered sufficiently to contest the 400m in Izmir.
The 23rd World University Games officially begin tomorrow with a four-hour opening ceremony scheduled for 5.15pm Irish time.
