Paul Hession failed to qualify for the final of the men’s 200m when he finished third in his semi-final today.
Hession ran a time of 21.03 seconds behind Dmytro Glucschenko of the Ukraine (20.89) and Britain’s Chris Lambert (20.74).
Lambert had earlier also pipped Hession in their heat, when the Irishman ran 20.80 to finish second.
Paul Brizzel failed to emerge from his heat when he came third in a time of 21.27.
Defending champion Marcin Urbas of Poland won that heat in a time of 20.87, with Swede Johan Wissman second in 20.93.
