An Irish athlete has 'committed an anti-doping violation', according the Athletic Association of Ireland (AAI).
The AAI, who were informed of the violation by the Irish Sports Council, today revealed they have been in touch with the athlete, whose identity has not yet been revealed, and a formal response will be given by the athlete to the association by next Tuesday.
It is not known if the athlete in question is a member of the Irish Olympic team.
