Mark Carroll leads an elite group of Irish athletes competing in Sunday's London Marathon where the main aim will be the achievement of the 2.15.00 qualifying standard for the Athens Olympic Games in August.
Although Carroll has already qualified, as a result of his 2.10.54 debut in New York two years ago, both Martin McCarthy (Leevale) and Peter Matthews (DSD) will look to join him as both are capable of making the standard.
