Bohs jump up league table

Bohemians have jumped up to second in the eircom League Premier Division table with a 2-1 win over Shamrock Rovers at Dalymount Park tonight. Irish international Glen Crowe ensured the three points for the defending champions with the winning goal in the 79th minute.

Rovers had gone 1-0 up on the half-hour mark with a Glen Fitzpatrick strike. Damien Lynch struck back for Bohemians with a goal in the 37th minute before Crowe was on the mark with his 11th goal of the season in the 77th minute.

St Patrick's Athletic have dropped to third in the table after they drew 2-2 with Derry City at Richmond Park. Pats had gone 2-0 up thanks to goals from Clive Delaney in the 27th minute and an own-goal from Peter Hutton four minutes later. But the visitors levelled the match 2-2 before the break with goals from Michael Holt in the 38th minute and Gary Beckett in the 45th minute.

Meanwhile UCD recorded their third win of the season with a 3-0 drubbing of Waterford United at Belfield. Patrick Sullivan, Mick O'Donnell and Mark Leech with the goals for the students.
