Keith Kelly scored a tremendous victory at Friday night's North Down International Games in Bangor when he took the Les Jones Memorial 1500metres in 3:43.56. The former US National Collegiate cross-country champion held off the challenge of Sudan's Ahmed El Radi to record an excellent win.
Meanwhile, Gareth Turnbull could only manage fifth place in the 800m in a time of 1:48.80 after setting a personal best for 1500m 24 hours earlier at the Linz Grand Prix meeting.
Finally, Sonia O'Sullivan claimed a decisive win in the 3,000m despite having the race delayed by 45 minutes after her flight to Belfast arrived late. The race eventually got underway at 9.30pm and the Cobh athlete won in a time of 9.089 minutes.
