O'Sullivan set for Leopardstown

Sonia O'Sullivan is now almost certain to run in the short course race at the World Cross-Country championships in Leopardstown on the weekend of the 23rd and 24th of March.

She was in action in the Victorian Championships in Melbourne over the weekend, winning the 5,000 metres title easily with an encouraging time of 16mins .94secs. O’Sullivan won both the long and short course races in the 1998 Cross-Country championships and she has just returned to running after the birth of her second child.

She said, “It is good to be back on track, you always want to run faster but the conditions were not ideal, another time I could have gone a minute faster.”
