Ireland's David McCarthy will be ranked number 13 in the world when the new list is published this week. McCarthy is currently ranked number 7 in Europe.
The 18-year-old from Celbridge broke the 400m Irish senior record yesterday when he won the British Junior Championships in a time of 46.66 seconds, just half a second off the world leading time this year.
McCarthy runs in the European Indoor Championships in Vienna this weekend.
