After the best part of two years sidelined through injury, 1999 World Championship finalist Ciarán McDonagh broke his own Irish record, when jumping 7metres 85 in Virginia today. The new record is 21cm longer than his previous best and is a sign of world class form ahead of the forthcoming World Indoor Championships in Vienna which take place in March.
