Sonia O'Sullivan's turbulent season continues with news that she will miss next Saturday's international road race meeting in Balmoral, Scotland. The Cobh athlete is still struggling to overcome the chest infection that led to her early exit at the World Cross Country Championships in Belgium two weeks ago and has been unable to train since.
The on-going illness is also threatening to delay her start to the season, and means O'Sullivan will miss out on the opportunity to renew her rivalry with Paula Radcliffe and Ethiopia's Gete Wami at the Balmoral event.
