Here is all you need to know about the games.

Both matches will be live on Premier Sport 1 and TNT Sports 5.

There will be a live blog on RTÉ.ie and the RTÉ News app with updates from both matches.

THE TROY STORY

The focus of Shels' game against the Erdesive side has changed somewhat as their prospects of qualifying are looking very bleak.

A home game with Crystal Palace and a trip to Slovenia to face Celje, who looked so impressive against Shamrock Rovers, rounds off their campaign.

With just a single point on the board, Joey O'Brien's side are going to need to come up with two wins in their closing three matches.

It's highly unlikely given the difficult of the fixtures, but even a point tonight would be a great source of pride as well as the financial reward.

The narrow defeats against Drita and Shkendija have cost Shels their chance it appears.

Five-goal hero of the international window Parrott will have the most eyes on him tonight.

The Tottenham Hotspur man is likely to have growing interest since his exploits in the green shirt, which have added to his excellent performances in the Netherlands.

The Reds will find it tough away from home and in particular out of season now, having spent the last couple of weeks preparing for this encounter.

AZ have had something of a mixed bag, going down 3-1 against Palace, and a surprise 4-0 loss to AEK Larnaca.

They need the points tonight with just three on the board so far from a 1-0 success over Slovan Bratislava.

HOOPS HAVE HOPE

It's a different story for Shamrock Rovers after their very creditable draw away to AEK Athens which could have been a win if it wasn't for a late penalty.

Nevertheless, their closing run in the competition brings a more realistic chance of progress compared to Shels.

Breidablik (a) and Hamrun Spartans (h) offer big opportunities in the closing games, with seven points possibly good enough to go through to the next stage.

A draw tonight would offer even more hope. Shakhtar bring a recognisable name, pedigree and a wealth of experience.

They're managed by Arda Turan, who you may remember from his playing days with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid and a long career internationally with Turkey.

Shakhtar looked likely to be playing St Patrick's Athletic in the qualifying rounds when the loser of their Europa League tie with Besiktas was due to play the Saints.

They caused an upset to knock out Ole Gunnar Solsjaker's side and went on to the next stage, only to be defeated by Panathinaikos.

Conference League football was secured and they were are well set to go through, with victories over Aberdeen and Breidablik.

They finished third in the league last year, but sit top of the table in the early stages of this campaign, meaning it's a formidable test for Stephen Bradley's double winners.

There will be a huge support for the visitors due to the number of their supporters living in Ireland, with the chance of a sell-out in Tallaght.

WHAT THEY SAY

Stephen Bradley believes the Ukranian side are another step up in class from their matches so far.

He said: "For me, these are the best we'll have played this year in Europe. They’re very good in all aspects, a really well coached team, with good players who can hurt you in many different ways, which is the sign of a good team.

"But it’s a nice challenge, it’s one we want and why we work so hard. But again, Shakhtar are a very good team and we’re looking forward to the challenge.

"We had a bit of time away from each other after the Cup Final and in those moments you do think about it, but it's very quickly that you have to switch on again to what’s coming.

"We still have aims for the rest of the year, it’s not as if we’re finished and we can relax and take it in. You do have moments of thinking about it, but it’s more having to refocus on Shakhtar Donetsk and then Breidablik and Hamrun."

Looking ahead to AZ Alkmaar's meeting with Shels, Parrott reflected: "This is the first time I'm going to play against someone from my home town so it's exciting.

"They're a hard-working team, I think all Irish teams are.

"I wouldn't say I'm still a Shamrock Rovers fan. I was when I was younger. But yeah I grew up really close to Shelbourne's stadium and I also know some guys from there so it's going to be nice to see some familiar faces."

TEAM NEWS

Shels have no new concerns.

Danny Mandroiu is set to a lot of next season after requiring surgery on a cruciate ligament injury sustained in the FAI Cup final win over Cork City.

Aaron McEneff and Max Kovalevskis are unavailable due to injury and concussion protocol respectively.
