Elite Irish athletes Bryan Keane, Aileen Morrison, Emma Davis and Gavin Nobel are set to compete in a crucial European Cup showdown at the TriAthlone on Saturday and Sunday.

The TriAthlone features races for all levels and is Ireland’s biggest triathlon.
But the international race will draw much of the focus and as well as the best of the Irish, it has attracted a field of elite triahtletes with representatives from the UK, Australia, New Zealand, France, Switzerland and Spain set to compete.
It is the first ever that the triAthlone has hosted an ETU European Triathlon Championships fixture.
Waterways Ireland TriAthlone Chairman Liam Heavin expects a massive crowd to turn out for the races.
He said: ‘This is the biggest year yet for Waterways Ireland triAthlone and we want to encourage as many people as possible to come along and support the tri-athletes taking part and enjoy the fantastic atmosphere which will be rife throughout Athlone this weekend.
‘We are thrilled to be hosting the 2010 Athlone ETU European Triathlon Championships; it is testament to the growing popularity of the sport in Ireland. The year on year success we have seen with this event is outstanding and we are certain it will continue.’
