Major League Baseball clubs are showing little interest in signing disgraced home-run king Barry Bonds, agent Jeff Borris said.

'I am not optimistic any team will approach me about Barry before the (July 31) trading deadline,' Borris said.

Speaking from MLB's all-star game fesitivites in New York, Borris said the multi-millioniare Bonds is even willing to play for the league minimum salary of $390,000.

'If that doesn't raise a level of suspicion, I don't know what does,' Borris said. 'I think it's a pathetic ending to the story.'

He said Bonds could be ready to play in two weeks.

There have been reports in the American media that Bonds was talking to the New York Mets or Boston Red Sox. But Borris said there are no takers.

'There hasn't been a field manager who has told me he doesn't want him in the lineup,' he said, adding that front office management sends a different message. 'I get very generic responses like, "It's not a good fit."
