Thierry Henry's Arsenal future remains uncertain
Thierry Henry's Arsenal future remains uncertain

Thierry Henry's former France team-mate Laurent Blanc believes Arsenal's 2-1 defeat by Barcelona in the Champions League final will lead to him staying with the Premiership club.

Henry has been widely tipped to leave Arsenal and Barcelona is one possible destination, but Blanc believes the striker will stay.

'After seven years at Arsenal, Thierry doesn't have too many options after losing this final,' said Blanc. 'I thought before the final that an Arsenal victory would complete the job for him.

'He has won Premierships and the FA Cup, so the Champions League would have meant there was nothing left. But losing means Thierry has unfinished business and is likely to stay with Arsene Wenger,' Blanc told the Daily Express.

'Thierry is one of the very few players, including Barcelona's Ronaldinho and Eto'o, who are playing the game at a different level,' added the former Manchester United defender.
