West Bromwich Albion have signed Everton defender Steve Watson on a free transfer.
The versatile 31-year-old former Aston Villa player has joined Albion on a three-year deal after rejecting Everton's offer of a one-year contract.
Albion manager Bryan Robson revealed he tried to sign Watson when he was in charge of Middlesbrough.
"Steve has great experience and will be a valuable addition to the squad," he told the club's website.
