Holland coach Dick Advocaat today revealed that his captain Frank de Boer is almost certainly out of Wednesday's Euro 2004 semi-final against Portugal.
The former Rangers defender limped off in the second half of Saturday's quarter-final win over Sweden with an injured foot.
"It will be very difficult for him to play. We'll know how serious it is after he's been to hospital," said Advocaat.
The setback could not come at a worse time for 34-year-old de Boer who has fought his way back into the team against strong
competition from Wilfred Bouma.
