Steve Brown is backing Phil Taylor to win the PDC Ladbrokes.com World Championship despite the fact that he is playing him in tonight's second round. The 40-year-old American secured a second-round tie with the 10-times world champion at Purfleet's Circus Tavern thanks to his 4-2 success against wild card entrant David Platt.
However, Brown has admitted he is a big fan of Taylor and wants the legend, who has won the last eight world titles, to continue his amazing domination of the sport. "I don't think you will find in any sport anyone that's got a record like Phil's. Although I want to beat him and win the world championship, I still think it would be wonderful if he could get 10 in a row," he said.
Brown also believes Taylor is the greatest player in the sport's history. "People still argue with me, but I've been around since basically the start of the game when the BDO (British Darts Organisation) was formed and I've seen everyone. There is no comparison, he is the best there's ever been, simple as that," he added.
