Mixed result for NI Badminton at Games
Northern Ireland's David Geddes made a slow start to his side's mixed team Group D encounter with Mauritius this morning. Geddes lost the first set of his singles clash with Hyder Aboobakar 7-5 at the Bolton Arena.
After suffering 5-0 reversals to India and New Zealand neither side can reach the semi-finals, but the Northern Irish were keen to secure their second win of the games. Geddes was eventually defeated in straight sets as Aboobakar ultimately out-paced him.
It wasn't all bad news for Northern Irish fans as Bruce Topping and Jayne Plunkett won their mixed doubles rubber in straight sets to even up the five-match series.
