Late Late Show made a winning start to the year with a win in his first round heat in the Tote Gold Cup in Shelbourne Park tonight. He actually led on the first bend and won by three-and-a-half lengths from Lydpal Sammy in a best of the night 28.93. Meanwhile in Cork, Goat Island was highly impressive winning his Guinness Trophy heat in a brilliant time of 28.59.
