Darts: Taylor award to be investigated

Disgraced world darts champion Phil Taylor was tonight facing a possible investigation which could result in the removal of his MBE.

Officials at the Cabinet Office's ceremonial branch were considering whether to look into the nine-time world champion's conviction for indecent assault against two female fans. A spokeswoman said, "There would be an investigation if anything comes to light which would bring the award into disrepute." Taylor, 40, who was awarded the MBE in the New Year's Honours List, will be sentenced on March 27 after he was found guilty at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
