Play got underway at the Irish International Badmionton Championships in Baldoyle today. Top seed in the Mens' singles, Mark Constable of England beat Graham Smith of Scotland 15-7, 15-6. Ireland's Niall Tierney and Nigel Boyne both lost in straight sets in the second round this evening. Irish Olympian, Sonya McGinn, has been given a walkover into tomorrow morning's quarter final. McGinn is the only Irish woman left in the singles, following defeats for Karen Hungbing, Lisa Lynas and Clare Henderson this afternoon.
