Superbowl: Rams Win in thriller

The St Louis Rams put the finishing touches on one of the most remarkable campaigns in NFL history by surviving a tense battle with the Tennessee Titans to capture Super Bowl XXXIV last night. The match, played in Atlanta's Georgia Dome in the heart of an American south gripped by a brutal winter storm, will go down as the greatest Super Bowl of all time. The Rams triumphed 23-16, but only after blowing a 16-point lead in the second half, and a sensational tackle at the end to deny the Titans who were a yard away from forcing over-time. St Louis quarterback Kurt Warner followed Al Del Greco's game-tying 43-yard field goal for Tennessee with a 73-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Isaac Bruce with just one minute and 54 seconds remaining. It took Rams linebacker Mike Jones' game-saving tackle on Titans wide receiver Kevin Dyson, who was downed a mere yard shy of the end zone after catching a pass from Titans quarterback Steve McNair, to clinch the win.
