Superbowl: Titans face Rams in surprise Superbowl pairing

America’s biggest sports event of the year takes place in Atlanta this evening when the Saint Louis Rams meet the Tennessee Titans in the Superbowl. This is a surprise pairing and the game goes ahead without the familiar sounding teams like the Cowboys, the Broncos or the Packers.

The Rams are favourite despite being labelled one of the sport’s poorest teams of the last ten years. They scored a massive 526 points this season, thanks largely to Quarterback Kurt Warner who came from nowhere to take the NFL by storm this year.

The Titans, formerly the Houston Oilers, have been described as one of the decade's greatest underachievers. The team had been the lone original AFL team never to reach the Super Bowl

Meanwhile TV Network ABC stands to reap $130 million from Superbowl advertising revenue. This represents a 38 per cent increase on last year’s event which was broadcast by the Fox Network.
