Brazilian legend Pele, who celebrated the 30th anniversary of his 1000th goal yesterday, was named footballer of the Millennium at the World Sports Awards of the Century ceremony in Vienna last night.
Three-time world heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali was named boxer of the century, while four-time world Formula One champion Alain Prost of France received the motor sport award.
