A drama documentary, produced by Seamus Breathnach giving an in depth insight into the events leading up to the 1916 rising.
The Easter Rising, also known as the Easter Rebellion, was the most significant uprising in Ireland since the rebellion of 1798. The rising mounted by Irish Republicans with the aim of ending British rule in the country, was a significant step towards the establishment of an independent Irish Republic.
The Rising began on Easter Monday, the 24th of April 1916 and lasted for 6 days. Led by Patrick Pierce, the rising would go on to become one of the most significant moments in Irish history.
This drama-documentary is an in depth look into the events preceding the rising.
