During the first century of Ireland's independence, dentists have advocated for better oral health, and supported efforts to improve the art and science of dentistry.
This story is explored in a recently published book – The Irish Dental Association: A Centenary History which is published by Eastwood Books.
Myles is joined by the authors, Dr Eoin Kinsella from the Royal Irish Academy; and Dr Frances Nolan from the School of History at University College Dublin.

Two Bishops, Two Paintings
We all know that history stories can come at us from all sorts of encounters. In Ronan Kelly's case, he was in casual conversation over lunch with a husband and wife – when he heard tales of
two powerful men. Ronan tells the stories of Bishops Walter Lynch and Padraig O'Donoghue - separated by centuries, but connected by their power within the Catholic Church - and, by their love of art.
