ANOTHER CHAPTER OPENS
Last year we sent Blathnaid Bergin -Restaurant Advisor- sort of what not to Eat expert- to Killarney to check out Chapter 40, one of the town’s better know eateries. Times are tough out there. February, Blathnaid spent a day with the restaurant’s owners, Mark Murphy and Brigid Tangney, and that formed the basis for a detailed report that Blathnaid delivered to the pair. Three months on, Mark and Bridget came to tell John (and Blathnaid) what progress they’ve made –is here too.

KNEAD SOME BREAD ?
1991- sisters, Maura and Siobhan Kearney, set up their own baking business in Ballyhahill, Co. Limerick. The pair had graduated from college at a time when their classmates were either signing on the dole or getting the bus to England. So Maura and Siobhan decided to turn their passion for baking into a business and started baking from their mother’s kitchen. This month, the sisters celebrate baking their three millionth cake of bread! Joanne Hunt stood the heat in the kitchen on our behalf.
