CASTLETOWNBERE IN ITS WILD GLORY

Listen BackJohn Murray went as far as he could this week.. Nothing new then.. Well, as far South West as you can go,that is. With native Corkman, Tim Desmond riding shotgun, John dipped his toe in the business waters of Bantry Bay at Castletownbere, on the occasion of the opening of "Ondine", shot in the area..Did he come back with 10 toes? Listen on and find out.

ONDINE
Ondine was shot on location on the Beara Peninsula during August and September 2008.The film went on general release on Fri 5th march. Colin Farrell is without doubt the face of the film which also starred Alicja Bachleda, Stephen Rea, Dervla Kirwan and Alison Barry. Neil Jordan directed and wrote the film and he told us what it was like working down in the Beara, and was Colin Farrell like a " fish out of water" in the wilds of west Cork ( Ondine is about a mermaid! - hence the pun.. oh never mind!)
