MARKING CULTURE NIGHT, AT THE ÁRAS, September 2024

Sharing some images here from a wonderful night on Friday 13th Septembr at Áras an Uachtaráin, hosted by President Higgins and Sabina Higgins, a special advance recording of Sunday Miscellany to mark Culture Night. Our guests were writers Aingeala Flannery, Manchán Magan, Tim Carey, Nell Regan, Mia Döring, Rita Ann Higgins, Séamus Barra Ó Suilleabháin and Donal Ryan, with musicians Cormac Begley, Niwel Tsumbu & Éamonn Cagney, Dónal Clancy & Áine McHugh and Clare Sands. We were joined by an appreciative audience who had applied to Áras an Uachtaráin through public lottery for tickets. The programmes from this event will be broadcast on Sunday 22nd September and Sunday 29th September at 9am on RTÉ Radio 1, and the first programme on the 22nd will include the President reading his own poem, Stardust.
