Listen Back Legendary entertainer Brendan Shine joins Miriam O Callaghan in the company of his daughter Emily to talk about their life and times.

Brendan and Emily perform Brendan's 1979 hit Do You Want Your Old Lobby Washed Down, Con Shine? and Emily recalls the excitement of that year when she was a little girl.

Brendan explains to Miriam how he grew up on a farm but that the family were also involved in music. He left school early to pursue his musical career and he continues to perform and tour to this day.

Emily was always an insightful little girl, so Brendan says that it is no surprise that she became a psychologist. These days, however, she spends alot of time touring with her dad.

The turning point in their relationship happened when Brendan's brother Owen died suddenly and tragically in the middle of a tour. Emily joined her father and played with him to complete the tour. They have performed and toured together ever since, as much as her family committments will allow. Working together has allowed them to develop a new adult and professional relationship and they know each other better.

Emily and Brendan perform Under the Light of the Moon which was the first song that they recorded together.

When the children were small, Brendan's wife Kathleen ran the family bar. Both acknowledge her as the bedrock of the family. These days, they no longer have the bar but farm a herd of Angus beef cattle.

Emily and Brendan then perform Brendan's latest single Where did you meet her?
