It was dubbed "the night of the rubber knives" by Fianna Fail's Willie O'Dea.
February's anti climactic showdown between Taoiseach Enda Kenny and his party, in which he announced that he would address the question of his leadership "effectively and conclusively after the St Patrick's Day visits", was widely praised and welcomed by his dissenters.
Well, St. Patrick's Day has passed but Kenny's party seem none the wiser after last night's parliamentary party meeting.
Citing Northern Ireland and Brexit, Enda Kenny told Fine Gael TDs and Senators that he would not deal with the issue of his leadership until after the European Council summit on April 29th, which will set the parameters of the Brexit negotiations. He also plans to stay put until Northern Ireland has a new Executive.
