Here's what the Oireachtas Water committee has decided: water charges will be scrapped, refunds should be approved, and new builds will not be mandatory metered.

So, with water funded through general taxation, does that mean the taxpayer will be stuck with the bill to update Ireland's creaking water infrastructure?
