Ireland's own four-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion returns to his native Dublin tomorrow for WWE Live at the 3Arena.

And, as Stephen Farrelly told The Ryan Tubridy Show on Thursday, he's feeling the pressure of performing in front of the home audience.

"Maybe it's psychological but you know you have to perform. You can’t mess up or you'll never hear the end of it!"

Farrelly, a former security guard for Bono, became an international wrestling star under the stage name Sheamus O’Shaunessy, making millions by playing up his pale skin and red hair. But, as he explained, he's always tried to avoid the hokey Irish stereotype.

"If you look at anything I've done over the last eight years, nothing has been hokey. It was all about my love of Celtic mythology…I am very proud of where I come from and where I live. I have avoided any negativity or any type of paddywhackery crap."

Stephen also said it's important to be a good role model for children, who are watching the current generation of Irish sports stars on the world stage.

"We have the ability to take over the world, not just in this but in every sport. I think we are dreamers in a positive way, not afraid to go after our dreams or goals and put the sacrifices in to get there."
