As Dublin celebrate their three-in-a-row of All-Ireland Football wins, it was impossible not to be moved by the awesome efforts of Mayo to try and clinch the title.  Mayo manager Stephen Rochford put it simply.

'I couldn't ask for any more from the lads'

On Morning Ireland, Gavin Jennings asked Kieran Shannon, Irish Examiner Columnist and Sports Psychologist "How do Mayo get past this and win?"

"The simple answer is… they just have to go again."

However, Kieran explained that losses in a final, understandably, have a big impact on players.

"One of the paradox's of getting to a final is it's harder to get over a defeat like that. The pain is much more keenly felt than a team that exits at an All-Ireland quarter-final stage."

Kieran says Mayo can take a lot from the experience, despite the obvious upset at this stage.  He says as Dublin have been relentless in their approach, so too have Mayo. We'll have to wait and see if these two teams face off once again in next year's final.
