Perfume industry threatens extinction for musk deer The musk deer is in danger of extinction, the deer is found in forests in Asia and Eastern Russia. Bucks are being hunted to provide raw musk for very expensive perfumes, and this is putting pressure on their numbers. Musk is five times more valuable than gold, and this makes them a very lucrative catch. This is the claim that is being made by the Worldwide Fund for Nature.
