Tributes paid to Glenroe star Joe Lynch The sad news came through last night that Joe Lynch, one of Ireland's best loved actors, had passed away. The 76-year-old, who was best known as the Bracken and Glenroe character, Dinny Byrne, died after taking ill at his holiday home in Spain.
