Russian submarine rescue frustrated by bad weather Bad weather and poor visibility frustrated two attempts to rescue Russian submarine Kursk and its 116 crew members lying on the bottom of the Barents Sea for four days now and running short of oxygen. There are differing perceptions of the possibility of rescue this morning with one commentator saying that Moscow was prepared to sacrifice the crew rather than allow a NATO power to save the 116 people on board.
