A clash of queens, one Catholic and Scottish and one Protestant and English, is the subject of the Irish National Opera’s new production, Gaetano Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda. The production offers two regal performers in the roles, Tara Erraught plays Maria Stuarda, while Anna Devin plays the English Queen.
