Notes
Miriam’s music guest this morning is a much sought after performer and teacher. Gramophone Magazine described him as “a pianist of unbounding sensitivity”, while The Sunday Times said he possesses “impeccable technique and musicality”. A piano competition in Vienna in 1973 opened the door to a career for John O’Conor that has taken him all over the world. He’s also co-founder of the Dublin International Piano Competition, which is currently seeking a corporate sponsor. More details about the competition on the website www.DIPC.ie. John played pieces by Field, Beethoven, and Chopin.
