Last month John published his first novel set in Ireland, 'A History of Loneliness', it tells the story of an essentially decent priest struggling with his conscience as the truth about clerical abuse in Ireland comes to light. John spoke to Miriam from a studio in Norwich about the book and the article he wrote for The Gaurdian Newspaper recently.
