Notes
Cathal heads to New York and the 1950’s Greenwich Village folk scene to shine a light on Tradition Records. Founded by the American song collector Diane Hamilton and Paddy Clancy, the label released a string of influential Irish albums by the likes of Mary O’Hara and Seamus Ennis but is best remembered as the recording company that launched the singing careers of Tommy Makem and The Clancy Brothers. (Contributors include Robbie O’Connell, Fiachra Meek and Elijah Wald)
