Notes
Cathal Funge heads back to 1940’s to tell the story of Ireland’s first traditional music record label, the Irish Recording Company. Established in 1947 by the pioneering sound recordist and music producer Bill Stapleton, the IRC recorded many of the top traditional musicians of that era but folded a few years later when some of those recordings were released by an American label unbeknownst to Stapleton or the artists. (Contributors include Harry Bradshaw and Helen Ledwidge)
