Derek Mahon is recognised as one of the great writers in English. When he died in 2020 there could be no gathering to salute him. In 2025, a special public event did just that in the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin. The event was hosted by Peter Fallon of The Gallery Press, Mahon's longtime publisher, in association with Notre Dame University and RTÉ Radio 1.
