As it's the time of year to pick sloes why not have a cocktail using Sloe Gin

The Charlie Chaplin

Some say this cocktail was the first drink named after a movie star – it was created at New York City’s Waldorf Astoria as Charlie Chaplin rose to fame in silent films.. This recipe first appeared in A.S. Crockett’s 1934 The Old Waldorf-Astoria Bar Book and is a classic Sloe Gin cocktail recipe.

Directions:

1 1/2 part Sloe Gin

1 part lime juice, freshly squeezed

3/4 part apricot brandy

1/4 part sugar syrup

orange twist, to garnish

Add all ingredients to an ice-filled cocktail shaker, and shake well. Strain into a chilled glass, and garnish with an orange twist.
