Our first lunchtime concert of the year with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra is full of charm and energy. Under the baton of Swann Van Rechem, Johann Strauss II features with the graceful 1001 Nights and the ever-popular Emperor Waltz. Principal Flute, Silvija Ščerbavičiūtė performs two contrasting works: Chaminade's Concertino and Mozart’s Andante in C and Rimsky-Korsakov’s dazzling Capriccio espagnol closes the programme.

Patrick Rafter directs the RTÉ Concert Orchestra from the violin in a lyrical lunchtime programme centred on melody and expression. Rossini’s Barber of Seville Overture sets a lively tone, followed by the gentle charm of Elgar’s Salut d’amour and the rich textures of Sospiri. Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending brings a sense of calm while Amy Beach’s Romance offers is a rare gem. To end, Puccini’s Intermezzo from Manon Lescaut.

Travel through Nordic soundscapes with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, conducted by Patrik Ringborg. From Lumbye’s playful Copenhagen Steam Railway Galop to the atmospheric beauty of Sibelius’ The Swan of Tuonela, this concert is rich in contrast and colour. Mezzo-soprano Sharon Carty will perform Grieg’s heartfelt Six German Songs, Op. 48, while Ben Marshall adds depth on cor anglais.

Enjoy a lunchtime treat with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and pianist Finghin Collins in a programme devoted entirely to Mozart. Piano Concertos No. 12 in A and No. 21 in C showcase Mozart at his most elegant. From sparkling dialogue between piano and orchestra to the famous serene slow movement of K467, these two works show different sides of Mozart’s style.

Our final Full Score Spring Lunchtime Concert with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, is a rare treat - with euphonium soloist Christopher Nery in the spotlight. He will perform Wesołowski's Euphory Concerto, written in 2019. We'll also hear Florence Price’s powerful Concert Overture No. 1 and Berlioz’s rousing Hungarian March. The concert is completed by Chopin’s Waltz from Les sylphides and Franck’s symphonic poem Le chasseur maudit.
